FAQ
Questions, answered.
Languages, apps, privacy, pricing, and when you can download SpokenKeys.
How is SpokenKeys different from built-in dictation?
Built-in dictation types out every word you say, including the ums and the parts you take back. SpokenKeys cleans up as you go. It removes filler words, adds punctuation, keeps only what you meant, and leaves out voices in the background, so the text is ready to send.
Which apps does it work in?
On Mac, any app with a text cursor, including Gmail, Slack, Notion, Word, ChatGPT, and your code editor. On iPhone, any app where you can switch keyboards. iOS doesn't allow other keyboards in password fields, so you'll type those yourself.
What languages does it support?
SpokenKeys works best in English and Mandarin right now, and you can mix them in the same sentence. More major languages are on the way. On iPhone you can also speak Mandarin or Spanish and have it typed in English.
What if other people are talking nearby?
SpokenKeys follows the main speaker, which is usually you, closest to the mic, and leaves other voices out of your text. You can turn this off in Settings.
Where does my voice go?
Your audio is streamed over an encrypted connection to the speech service that turns it into text, and the text is tidied up by our AI before it's typed. On iPhone this happens straight from your phone.
When can I download it?
SpokenKeys is in private testing on Mac and iPhone right now. Public downloads are coming soon.
How much does it cost?
There's a free plan with 1,500 words every week, and a Pro plan with unlimited words. New users get 7 days of Pro free. Pro pricing is coming soon.
