Privacy Policy

SpokenKeys is made by Meow Lab Limited, a company incorporated in the British Virgin Islands (company number 2205519) ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the SpokenKeys apps for iPhone and Mac and this website collect, why, and what you can do about it.

Your voice

SpokenKeys only listens while you dictate, from the moment you tap Dictate until you tap ✓. That audio is streamed over an encrypted connection to a speech recognition provider, which turns it into text. We don't keep recordings of your voice on our servers.

Your text

The text from your dictation is sent over an encrypted connection to an AI language model provider, which removes filler words, adds punctuation, and tidies it up before it's typed. If the context option is on, a short piece of the text just before your cursor is sent along with it so names and terms are spelled the way you already wrote them. You can turn the context option off in Settings. We don't keep your dictated text on our servers.

Usage data

The apps send us usage numbers, such as seconds of audio, word counts, number of dictations, and your plan, together with a random install ID, the device model, the operating system version, and the app version. These numbers don't contain your audio or your text. We use them to enforce plan limits, bill for paid plans, measure what the service costs to run, and fix problems.

Service providers

We rely on these kinds of providers to run SpokenKeys, and they process data only to provide their service to us:

• Speech recognition, such as Soniox and Microsoft Azure AI Speech.
• AI text processing, such as Cerebras.
• Hosting and databases for our usage service, such as Vercel and Neon.
• Apple, for App Store downloads and in-app purchases.

This website

This website doesn't use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google when you open a page.

How long we keep data

We keep usage numbers for as long as we need them to run the service, handle billing, and meet legal obligations. Audio and dictated text aren't stored on our servers.

Your choices and rights

You can turn off the context option at any time, and you can stop using SpokenKeys and delete the app. To ask what data we hold about your install, or to have it deleted, email privacy@spokenkeys.com.

Children

SpokenKeys isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Important changes will also be announced in the app.
